As part of a full home renovation we carried out in the hilltop town of Fermo, our clients wanted to transform the property’s tiny ground-floor kitchen into a stylish and functional modern Italian bathroom. Since a brand new kitchen was being created elsewhere, this compact space offered the perfect opportunity to add a practical second bathroom without compromising the flow of the home.

Our builder extended the original room to make space for a walk-in shower and WC, and also backfilled one of the walls for extra structural strength, scroll down to the video to find out why. The plumbing and electrics were fully upgraded, with our plumber installing all the new fittings and the electrician adding recessed spotlights in the shower cubicle and a backlit wall cabinet to give the room a bright, modern feel.

For the design, we chose sleek modern tiles, a contemporary bathroom suite, and matte black accessories to create contrast and sophistication against the neutral tones. Despite the room’s small footprint, careful planning and clever use of light and texture make it feel open, fresh, and perfectly in tune with the rest of the home’s modern design.
