We couldn’t quite believe the amount of homes that had fallen into disrepair and were for sale across the eastern region of Le Marche in Italy when we began searching to buy. And in 2016, after purchasing and restoring our very own home in this beautiful region, D&G Design was born and our story continues today.

Homes, just like ours, offer fantastic potential and could be an attractive option for foreign buyers. They can easily be transformed into stunning second homes, holiday rentals or even bed and breakfasts. With so many wonderful old houses crying out for some TLC, we wanted to see these neglected homes bought back to life once again by new owners.

Combining over 20 years’ experience in heritage restoration and interior design, with a devoted love of Italy, we decided to promote these properties to overseas buyers and offer our skills and expertise. From assisting with the purchase process through our Move to Italy Experiences and helping overcome the challenges that go with a house sale overseas, to carrying out renovations and interior design, all to suit the needs and budget of the buyer.

We work closely with a team of skilled, reliable and trustworthy professionals including structural engineers, architects, geometra’s (surveyors), builders, notaries and lawyers. These passionate people assisted us with the purchase of our home and share our vision. We can coordinate bringing together this team of experts to help the buyer, seller and benefit the local economy.

Breathing new life into old walls of ancient houses and to the Le Marche region gives us a huge sense of satisfaction. We want everyone to share the experience of owning a holiday home or a rental business in one of Italy’s most beautiful provinces.

About David

Italian born David is a skilled craftsman who has spent 20 years specialising in historic building restoration and conservation.

Alongside residential refurbishments in Spain and Italy, David has also worked on some of the UK’s most treasured buildings including St Paul’s Cathedral, Bath Abbey, Highclere Castle (Downton Abbey!) and royal residence Windsor Castle.

Now based in Italy, he enjoys transforming crumbling facades and decaying dilapidations into incredible works of art fit for royalty!

About Gary

Although not born in Italy, Gary’s passion for pizza and wine is enough to keep drawing him back to this stunning country.

A graduate of the British Academy of Interior Design, creative Gary is a hands-on decorator and interior stylist with the practical skills to match his design flair. Working with you to reimagine your vacation home’s ideal interior – be that traditional or contemporary – Gary will bring your scheme to life, sourcing local materials, furniture, and those one-of-a-kind pieces.

When he isn’t designing he can be found in one of Le Marche’s many antique markets looking for great treasures for his clients… OR working his way through the menu at a local pizzeria!
