An essential part of home buying in Italy is to have the house checked by a qualified surveyor before you commit to buying it.

As well as checking the structural condition of the property, a geometra or ingenere will make sure that all paperwork held with the local comune is up to date and accurate, giving you peace of mind that it is safe to buy the home without inheriting any fines or issues caused by a previous owner.
