Petritoli: A Beautiful Borgo in Italy
Covering an area of just over 23 kilometres, Petritoli is a beautiful Italian borgo in Le Marche and a popular hotspot for weddings, expat house buyers, and tourists alike. Three grand 15th century arches and large turrets welcome you to the hilltop town, where Medieval piazza’s, cobbled streets, perfectly restored honey-coloured houses and an array of charming cafes and restaurants create perfectly authentic Italian living.
Add in a couple of luxury boutique hotels, four churches, a mighty civic tower with its own viewing platform, several palazzos and an absolutely beautiful theatre, and it’s not difficult to see why Petritoli is one of our favourite Borgo’s in Le Marche.
For house hunters, the good news is that there is a strong expat community in Petritoli, perhaps drawn to the area by the low-priced properties already available, combined with a large local Italian community so hearing both Italian and English being spoken is guaranteed.
At around 20 minutes drive from the sea, a home in Petritoli offers the chance for both authentic Italian life surrounded by fantastic views of the Sibillini Mountains and the Adriatic Sea, as well as plenty of days at the beach. The perfect blend!
